The sweet smell of donuts filled the air in the Student Union Market and near the Hangar for the first Donuts with DPS event hosted by Wright State University’s Department of Public Safety on Feb. 21.
The event was a great opportunity for Wright State students and employees to chat with police officers and dispatchers while grabbing a delicious treat.
“I hope they get to see us more than just a cop, they see us as a person,” said Zach Norman, a police sergeant who greeted hungry students outside the Hangar.
Norman said he hoped the free donuts and conversations with students encouraged them to be less hesitant and approach police officers if they ever need assistance.
“They were super funny and they were making me laugh,” said Lolita Gonzalez, a first-year student majoring in political science.
Bill’s Donuts in Centerville and Tim Horton’s on campus donated the donuts for the event.
