D.L. Stewart
Nationally syndicated Dayton Daily News columnist D.L. Stewart will be the featured speaker at the annual Living Legends of the Dayton Daily News Archive lecture Friday, March 22.
The lecture series celebrates the Dayton Daily News Archive, an extensive collection donated to Wright State by the newspaper.
Stewart, a Cleveland native and Ohio University graduate, has been writing insightful, humorous columns for Dayton newspapers since 1975.
Titled “I’ll Never Be a Writer,” the lecture will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Paul Laurence Dunbar Library. A reception following the lecture will include an exhibit featuring a sampling of Stewart’s columns and other items from the Dayton Daily News Archive, plus samples from the Wright State Student News Bureau.
The lecture series is sponsored by Wright State’s Department of Communication and the Libraries’ Special Collections and Archives. Past speakers from the Daily News have been aviation photographer Ty Greenlees, former editor Jeffrey Bruce and sports columnist Tom Archdeacon.
