DAYTON, Ohio — Some years ago, a retired veterinarian and a college professor met at a social gathering. Jeff John (the prof) and Frank Johnson (the vet) realized they had a shared interest in Xenia, Ohio.
Dr. Johnson, a longtime veterinarian in the Cincinnati area, grew up there. His father, the late Frank Lee Johnson, was a judge in Xenia. John, a professor at Wright State University, cut his journalistic teeth as a reporter for the Xenia Daily Gazette.
