DAYTON — Area colleges and universities are breaking new ground with research in virtual worlds, developing programs that could lead to new jobs, businesses and research, many with possible military ties.
As state officials push for scholarly research with practical applications some of the latest examples can be found at the University of Dayton, Wright State University and Sinclair Community College where students and faculty are using virtual reality to train soldiers and fly experimental or unmanned aircraft.
