Video: Little free libraries headed to Dayton community

A national initiative has made its way to the Miami Valley. It is called the Little Free Library and it gives young and old opportunities to have books in their homes.

At Wright State University Tuesday, donated newspaper street racks were decorated and turned into free libraries. They will be distributed throughout Dayton neighborhoods and the Downtown Dayton YWCA.

Everyone is encouraged to donate gently used and new books for young people and adults. This is to encourage children, families and caregivers to read. Unlike a regular library, these books don’t have to be returned.
