The Adventure Summit is a 12-year partnership between Five River MetroParks and Wright State University.
“It is an outdoor recreation event with over 40 presentations,” said Angela York, outdoor recreation special events coordinator for Five Rivers MetroParks, a regional public park system. “Dayton is the outdoor adventure capital of the Midwest and this is really a celebration of everything that Dayton has to offer.”
This year’s Adventure Summit featured speaker Jordan Romero, the youngest person to climb the Seven Summits.
In addition to listening to presentations and checking out displays, students, staff, faculty and visitors could participate in an indoor triathlon, bouldering competition and canoe battleship.
The event took place on Feb. 9-10 in the Student Union. Approximately 8,000 attended the Adventure Summit, and more than 100 volunteers helped to make it a success.
