Elementary schools from around the Miami Valley visited Wright State University for the Dayton Energy Workshop.
At the workshop, the students learned about energy, energy conservation, science, technology and math from area high school students.
“We have a thermal energy gun which has a laser and the kids love it,” said Abby Jones, a senior at Lehman Catholic high school in Sidney.
“They could be the ones out there trying to understand what might be alternative energy sources that we have yet to learn or harness,” added Debby Yerkes, executive director of the Ohio Energy Project.
The two-day workshop held Feb. 27, 28, is a partnership between the Ohio Energy Project, DP&L, Vectren and Wright State.
