Kevin Lorson, director of Wright State’s Physical Education Licensure Program, appeared on “The Doctors” to discuss his efforts to develop the Health and Opioid Prevention Education (HOPE) curriculum. It is designed to help schools address state requirements and be adaptable to the needs of each school district in Ohio.
Lorson explains how he understood the impact that the opioid crisis was having on young students. He felt like there was something to do and asked the question, “How can we help?” He organized a statewide team of health educators, administrators and higher education faculty to develop the HOPE curriculum.
