Wright State University social work majors are collecting winter coats for students at Fairborn Primary School.
Kira Dean, Rebekah Wyse and Jasmine Kiner are collecting new or gently used coats and monetary donations in the Student Union Atrium from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Friday, Oct. 30.
The drive is called Koats4Kids and was created as part of the trio’s practicum experience in their social work program.
“It’s pretty amazing,” said Kiner, “being able to give back and do something for a cause.”
Dean said that Fairborn Primary School has over 1,400 students enrolled in Pre-K through third grade. She hopes they can collect a winter coat for every student who needs one.
“We all here are strong advocates for children and we believe that everyone in need of help deserves the help that they should get,” Dean said.
