YELLOW SPRINGS — Stephen Rumbaugh has been making soap since 2009. He started blending oil and making soap after losing his job. “It was something I’ve always wanted to do and thought well now I’ve got the time, I’ll give it a try,” he said
He’s working again and still making soap, blending oil, and adding in lye then pouring the liquid into a mold so it can sit for a day. “I’ll take it out of the mold, cut it in half, let it cure for another 24 hours,” he said. Days later he’ll put it in a cutter and chop into 25 blocks of soap.
