After a long, dormant summer, Wright State University’s Dayton campus is once again buzzing with activity for Move-In Day.
Zealous freshmen parted ways with emotional parents to begin their academic adventure at Wright State.
About 1,200 incoming freshmen moved their furniture and other college essentials into their dorm rooms with the help of hundreds of upperclassmen, staff and faculty on August 22. An arsenal of golf carts further expedited the moving process.
Though the summer humidity was thick, the students’ enthusiasm to get settled into their new dorms and start Fall Semester filled the air.
Amid the the hustle and bustle, student reporter Reilly Dixon talked to freshmen, parents and moving volunteers about Move-In Day.
- Over 110 golf carts and 440 volunteers will be used to move in about 1,400 new students.
- Moving stuff from cars to dorms can be a daunting task. Good thing more than 400 volunteers were on hand to help.
