Raj Soin College of Business maintains prestigious AACSB Business and Accounting Accreditation

The Raj Soin College of Business has maintained its accredited status by ensuring the highest level of quality in teaching, research and service.

The Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business has maintained its business and accounting accreditation by AACSB International — the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education and has been earned by less than 5% of the world’s business programs. Today, 901 business schools in 58 countries and territories maintain AACSB Accreditation, and 189 institutions maintain an additional specialized AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.

The undergraduate program of the Raj Soin College of Business was initially accredited by AACSB in 1974, with the graduate programs receiving initial accreditation in 1980. The Accountancy Program was separately accredited in 1990.

Since then, the Raj Soin College of Business has maintained its accredited status by ensuring the highest level of quality in teaching, research and service. The College of Business is mindful of creating a student-focused environment that emphasizes experiential learning and career placement. The college is also cognizant of the value of nurturing strong partnerships with industries and retaining exceptional faculty.

Over the last five years, the college has developed several new programs and offerings including the new Center for Career Management, which connects business students to employers through career preparation activities, internships and career placement; the Degree Completion Program, designed for students who have left college without earning a bachelor’s degree by providing financial aid and support services to complete their degree; and the Passport to Success App, which was developed by a team of business students and is used to incentivize and track student participation in events and activities.

The AACSB peer review team complimented the college in three distinct areas recognizing that the research accomplishments of the college’s faculty exceeded all previous accreditation review periods in volume and quality; learning outcomes were achieved by the students of all business programs and exceeded predetermined thresholds; and the college’s community participation and impact rose to new heights through students’ hands-on learning projects with businesses as well as professional engagements between faculty and the community.

“We are naturally very pleased to have our AACSB Accreditations in both business and accounting extended for the maximum five-year term,” said Tom Traynor, Ph.D., dean of the Raj Soin College of Business. “The extension of these accreditations is a well-deserved confirmation of the excellent quality of our college’s business degree programs. It is also a testament to the exceptional work done by our outstanding faculty, staff and business partners on behalf of our wonderful students.”
