Mass food distribution scheduled for Wright State Nutter Center on Aug. 29

Wright State University will partner with The Foodbank to host a mass food distribution for Greene County residents needing food assistance on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Wright State Nutter Center.

Guests will receive fresh produce, proteins, grains and other products for free. Registration is not required.

Since this is a drive-thru style distribution, vehicles should have plenty of space in the trunk or backseat for food to be placed.

Vehicles should enter the Nutter Center grounds from Colonel Glenn Highway and North Fairfield Road and proceed to Lot 8 behind the Nutter Center.

The Foodbank asks that clients arrive no earlier than 9 a.m. for set up and safety purposes.

CareSource is sponsoring the event. CareSource and Wright State employees will volunteer their time to distribute food.

This event is part of an annual series of mass distributions held in partnership with CareSource designed to support communities in the Miami Valley with a high concentration of food insecurity.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio will distribute children’s books during the event.

SICSA will also distribute a limited amount of pet food to pet owners.

Wright State students in need of emergency assistance should schedule an appointment at the Raider Food Pantry or call the pantry at 937-260-0167.
