Nearly 1,100 students celebrate graduation during Wright State’s fall commencement ceremonies

Nearly 1,100 students celebrated the culmination of their education journeys during Wright State University’s landmark 100th commencement ceremony in the Wright State Nutter Center on Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14.

The 1,070 graduates joined more than 120,000 alumni who are making a difference throughout Raider Country, all over Ohio, across the nation and around the world.

Wright State University President Sue Edwards urged graduates to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with open hearts and open minds.

“The path ahead has endless possibilities,” Edwards said. “Always remember that only you are in control of your destiny and happiness. You have the power to change.”

“Be your authentic self, seize every moment, pursue your passions with purpose, and never lose sight of the incredible potential that lies within each and every one of you” she said.

She told graduates to set their sights on the brightest of futures.

“Visualize where you are going and make a plan for turning that vision into your new reality. Go out there and always be your best and show the world just what Wright State Raiders are truly made of,” Edward said. “I cannot wait to see all that you will achieve in your lives and how you will make your mark on this world,” she said.

Commencement also featured a short congratulatory video from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
