Hundreds of Wright State University students learned about opportunities to participate in various clubs and student groups at the 2025 Spring Involvement Fair on Jan. 15 in the Student Union Atrium.
Almost 60 Wright State organizations and departments participated in the fair to encourage students to get involved on campus.
One of those organizations was Troupe, a student-led improv comedy group that is open to students of all majors.
“We try to teach acting implicitly by playing goofy games and putting on skits that don’t work off a script,” said Joey Sodergren, a graduate computer science student who is president of the organization.
Agum Akol, a first-year transfer student majoring in nursing, found it worthwhile to attend the fair.
“I’m very excited,” said Akol. “I joined a couple clubs and I cannot wait for them to start.”
Event organizers say the more students are involved and engaged on campus, the more likely they will have a positive experience and stay at Wright State.
“We promote engagement and help students realize that Wright State is the perfect fit for them,” said fair organizer Selvin Bacon, a graduate sports management student.
