Wright State Leadership Academy to begin operations

The Wright State University Leadership Academy will begin operations in March as part of an effort to provide all levels of leadership with the essential tools necessary to improve performance.

The academy’s first program, The Performance Appraisal: An Obligation, will focus on how to effectively plan and conduct an appraisal. It is tailored for people in supervisory/leadership roles with staff reporting to them.

Coming soon will be a program that will provide an overview of disciplinary processes for staff, the bargaining grievance process and how to address performance issues.

Additional programs to be offered will include one on leadership orientation (Leadership the Wright Way) for those new to supervising; Cornerstone of Effective Leadership series for managers, supervisors and leads; and an Executive Education series for directors, chairs and above, with an initial focus on succession planning.

The Performance Appraisal: An Obligation will be held at 3855 University Park, Classroom 111. Attendees can choose to attend on either Tuesday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to noon or on Wednesday, March 23 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Those interested in attending, or to nominate/register someone for attendance should contact Wright State University’s Organizational Development and Learning at odandlearning@wright.edu or call (937) 775-4705.
