Wright State graduate Jeremy Nelson helps adults with disabilities find community employment through his role with United Rehabilitation Services (URS) of Greater Dayton.

Nelson said people with disabilities need a lot of support and resources to have a level playing field when searching for employment.

United Rehabilitation Services provides the support and services necessary for participants in the program to achieve their career goals.

“Seeing somebody move from being stuck to really being fully themselves in the community in a job and being able to be the best version of themself is really rewarding,” said Nelson, who graduated from Wright State in 2013 with a master’s degree in clinical mental health.

The Community Employment program at United Rehabilitation Services ensures that participants are equipped with the job skills, self-confidence and one-on-one support to reach their personal employment goals and achieve financial independence.

Nelson has placed participants with a wide range of employers, from fast food restaurants and grocery stores to area hospitals.
