Everyone in the Wright State community is invited to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at Raidersgiving, whose motto is “No Raider Eats Alone.”
Wright State University will host the eighth annual Thanksgiving celebration, Raidersgiving, on Thursday, Nov. 28, from noon to 2 p.m. in the McLin Gym in the Wright State Nutter Center. Free shuttle transportation will be provided to and from the Nutter Center.
The free event provides Wright State students, faculty, staff and alumni the chance to share a meal on Thanksgiving Day. It also provides the opportunity for residential students, who may not be able to spend the holiday with their families, to enjoy the Thanksgiving tradition.
The menu will feature traditional Thanksgiving food, such as turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pie, as well as food from other countries, such as halal chicken and Indian stew and rice. This provides a comfortable environment for local and international students to enjoy familiar foods and try new ones.
The event will also feature live music by Café con Leche and tabletop board games for entertainment.
In past years, more than 500 people have attended. Food and service are comprised of volunteers and donations, making it an event of giving.
Numerous Wright State organizations, including the Wright State University Foundation, Chartwells, Residence Life and Housing, the Nutter Center, Unclassified Staff Council and Classified Staff Council, are involved in planning Raidersgiving.
