More than 600 Wright State University students, staff and faculty danced their tails off for 15 hours during a fundraising dance marathon that raised $50,389 for Dayton Children’s Hospital.

The first Raiderthon held at Wright State began Saturday, Nov. 16 in the Student Union Apollo room at 10 a.m. and continued until 1 a.m. the next morning. The event included live bands, disc jockeys, techno music, line dancing, belly dancing, zumba, a gymnastics performance, a fashion show, a performance by the Wright State Emerald Jazz Dance Team and a chemistry demonstration.

Families benefiting from the fundraiser were also in attendance. Each year, Dayton Children’s provides care for more than 290,000 infants, children and teens.

: The first Wright State Raiderthon raised $50,389.

: Hundreds of Wright State students partcipated including many from the Greek system.

: Students had a ball.

: The Magill family ran through a gauntlet of excited dancers on their way to the stage.

: Yoga was one of many exorcises dancers used to keep moving.

: A zumba routine had everybody throwing their hands in the air at Raiderthon.

: Student Government President Sukhman Singh made good use of a GoPro camera at the event.

: The pink team brought down the house during their talent portion of the Mr. and Mrs. Raiderthon competion.
