Ji Bihl, assistant professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, received the 2018–19 Presidential Award for Faculty Excellence: Early Career Achievement.
Bihl has worked at Wright State since 2010, advancing from postdoctoral fellow to assistant research professor to her current position in the Boonshoft School of Medicine.
Bihl has been at the forefront of groundbreaking research at Wright State. Her research interests are in the areas of cerebrovascular diseases and diabetes in developing novel predictive and therapeutic avenues for ischemic stroke, hemorrhagic stroke and vascular complications. Her research is funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association.
Her peers rave about her abilities as a teacher. She teaches multiple classes every year, receiving outstanding reviews from students. She has also served on 16 graduate student committees and created a new graduate class on preclinical pharmacology.
Bihl’s leadership, research experience and kindhearted demeanor make her an invaluable member of the Boonshoft School of Medicine.
