The Residential Community Association hosted “Nightmare on Springwood Lane” for Wright State University students who had the courage to attend.
The spooky indoor/outdoor event took place under a full moon on Oct. 21. Students gathered in small groups and were led by two trail guides with lanterns through the campus woods near Springwood Lane. They encountered a “werewolf” and numerous other scary creatures along the wooded path.
The screams of students who visited the “Haunted Hallway” in a residence hall could be heard from outside. The indoor venue featured numerous frightening characters along with decorations to startle visitors as they walked through several dorm rooms.
The annual Halloween event was canceled last year due to COVID-19.
“It is by far my most favorite event out of the whole year,” said event organizer Benjamin Hardesty, a junior majoring in computer science. “I’m glad we brought it back this year.”
For admittance to the event, the Residential Community Association collected nonperishable food items from students for the Raider Food Pantry.
