Video—Medical students give students physicals

Medical students and 5-year-olds working together and learning important lessons from one another. First-year med students from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine gave free check-ups to 35 Kiser kindergarteners Friday.

The med students conducted non-invasive physical exams under the supervision of faculty physicians. The kids were also able to get in on the fun, when they gave their principal a physical. The med students learned how a physical exam differs from an adult to a child and the kids learn that doctors are here to help.

“It gives the 5-year-olds an opportunity, as you can see, to have fun and to see medical professionals in a non-threatening light,” Bruce Binder, from Wright State University told us.
