Wright State University honored nearly 1,700 graduating students at its fall commencement ceremony Dec. 15 in the Wright State Nutter Center.
The fall class of 2018 included graduates with 1,010 bachelor’s degrees and 602 master’s degrees, 54 doctorates as well those awarded associate degrees and post-master’s certificates.
Graduating students range in age from 18 to 68. The class included 1,461 students from the 16 counties anchored by Wright State’s Dayton and Lake campuses. Graduates came from 28 states. The class also included 221 international students from 24 different nations.
In her commencement address, President Cheryl B. Schrader told graduating students at fall commencement that acts of kindness can be a powerful world-changing force.
“Class of 2018,” she said, “you give me hope — hope for a better tomorrow, hope for a world in which we can put our differences aside and celebrate the commonalities that unite us all.”
