Operation deep clean

Armed with facemasks, sanitizing liquid and dust wands, 40 custodial services employees at Wright State University have been on the front lines of coronavirus prevention since the beginning of May.

Custodial service employees have been tasked with deep cleaning, dusting, vacuuming and sanitizing every square inch of every academic building on Wright State’s campuses. To get the important work done safely, custodial service crews were divided into three daily shifts, seven days a week.

“A clean campus is a safe campus,” said Jim Click, a supervisor in custodial services.

Click said that his staff understands the important role they have during the COVID-19 pandemic. Access to the Dayton and Lake campuses is limited to essential personnel and summer classes are being offered remotely.

“Keeping the campus germ free and virus free has become high priority for us,” he said.

Crews have been focused on cleaning high-traffic areas and keeping essential personnel who continue to work on campus safe.
