It’s a common belief that local, state and national economies are built on the backs of small business. Often as they go, so goes the economy.
In these tough economic times, it’s becoming more important than ever for businesses in the Dayton region to utilize all their available resources and capitalize on local connections.
The Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce will hold its Third Annual Business Expo Thursday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wright State University Nutter Center.
For the first time the expo will kick off with a seminar: How the Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business Impacts the Dayton Region.
Starting at 5 p.m. in the Nutter Center Berry Room, seminar participants will learn how the Raj Soin College of Business and the Ohio Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Wright State support small businesses in the Miami Valley.
Participants will learn how the business college can assist start-up businesses with marketing, IT and strategic planning as well as training counseling and services to help small businesses reach international markets.
The business college also provides management training opportunities and interns to businesses expecting growth and expansion.
After the seminar, from 6 to 8 p.m., the Chamber will hold its annual Business Expo and Monthly Business Links in the Nutter Center concourse. The expo is open to the public.
Over 45 businesses have already signed up to display their goods and services. Hundreds more are expected to attend the event, which will include light refreshments provided by the Nutter Center and a cash bar.
A $1,000 scholarship prize to the business college will also be awarded that night to one lucky participant.
