Nick Davis, former director of continuing education at Wright State University’s Kettering Center, passed away on October 22.
Davis graduated from Oakwood High School and attended the University of Michigan, before being appointed to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. Before his retirement from the Navy, he served active duty in the Korean War. After returning to Dayton, Davis was employed by Chrysler Airtemp for more than 20 years, during which time he received his MBA from Xavier University. Upon his retirement from Chrysler, he became director of continuing education at the Kettering Center.
Davis was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where he served as president of the parish council and co-chairman of the Greek Festival for many years. He and his wife Bea traveled the world as members of the Friendship Force and Elderhostel, establishing many lifelong friendships. Davis was an avid runner and enjoyed participating in the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.
Davis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bea; son Nicholas, Jr., and his wife Mary; daughter Diana; granddaughters Brooke and Sophia; a brother; two sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
