It was a busy weekend at Wright State with Parents Weekend and Reunion Weekend activities. Festivities included Monte Carlo night, Rowdy Gras, Military Appreciation Night and Breakfast with the President.
- The Blast from the Past College Tailgate Party was held in the McLin Gym of the Wright State Nutter Center, Saturday February 5, 2011 prior to the men’s basketball game.
- All alumni were invited to attend the party to celebrate alumni from the WSU classes of 1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001.
- Pregame activities included the spirit units, music, games and lots of great food.
- Alumni from many classes joined in the festivities to renew old acquaintances from their school or college and meet new friends.
- Wright State parents and administrators presented information that affects parents of both residential and commuter students at “Just for Parents” held Saturday morning, February 5, 2011 in the Wright State Student Union Atrium.
- Guests learned about the new and exciting activities in the Division of Student Affairs, the Wright State Parents’ Association and Parents’ Advisory Council, University Police and Campus Safety, The Campus Master Plan, Semester Conversion and more.
- Military Appreciation Night was held in partnership with Reunion Weekend Saturday, February 5, 200 prior to the men’s basketball game in McLin Gym.
- The event was sponsored by Army ROTC, Veteran and Military-Connected Student Committee, Wright State University Enrollment Management Division, and Alumni Relations.
- Participants enjoyed a sports-themed buffet, family activities, giveaways and a basketball game.
- Students and parents had loads of fun at the Annual Monte Carlo Night, sponsored and hosted by students in the Residential Community Association.
- Casino gaming tables with Wright State Fun Money, plenty of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, great music, and the premiere of the new game show event for students and their parents called “How Well Do U Know Your Raider?” were all included in the festivities.
- The event was held Friday evening in the Wright State Student Union Atrium as part of Parent’s Weekend. Siblings and friends of students were also invited to attend.
- Participants enjoyed an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and shared in the excitement as the Parent of the Year Award was presented. All parents who were nominated for the Parent of the Year Award were recognized at the event.
- Parents and students joined President David R. Hopkins and First Lady Angelia Hopkins for breakfast and conversation Saturday, February 5, 2011 in the Wright State Student Union Apollo Room. The breakfast capped off a lively Parent’s Weekend and is one of its most highly attended events.
- Over 200 people gathered in McLin Gym for Rowdy Gras, the kick-off event for Reunion Weekend.
- Rowdy Gras, sponsored by Alumni Relations, is an evening of fun and festivities celebrating the classes of 1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001.
