Senior guards Vaughn Duggins and N’Gai Evans have been selected for All-Horizon League honors, it was announced Monday by the league office. Duggins was named to the First Team while Evans was voted to the Second Team.
Duggins, who has been honored by the league each year during his career, has averaged 18.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 45% from the field and grabbing 48 steals. The Pendleton Heights, Indiana native was selected to the All-Newcomer Team as a freshman, First Team as a sophomore and Second Team along with All-Defensive Team last season. The 6-3 guard has registered double figure scoring in 29 of the 31 games this year and has averaged 24.4 points per game over the last seven contests.
Evans, who is being honored for his first time, has averaged 14.2 points and 4.0 rebounds per game this season as he collected his career-high 26 in the win over Butler earlier this year. The 6-2 guard from North Canton, Ohio leads the team in assists with 92 and has grabbed 43 steals.
“Vaughn and N’Gai have dedicated themselves each year to improving and have had their best seasons as seniors,” WSU head coach Billy Donlon said. “They have embraced this University and helped elevate the program to a new level.”
The all-league teams and special awards are voted on by the head coaches, three media from each school and the sports information directors. Only the head coaches vote for the All-Defensive Team and the Sixth-Man Award.
Wright State will host Green Bay Tuesday night at 7 pm in the First Round of the Horizon League Tournament. For tickets and more information, call 888-RAIDERS.
