Kristine Scordo, nursing and health, was selected for induction into the Fellows of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Donna Miles Curry, nursing and health, was the keynote speaker at Indiana State University College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services Continuing Nursing Education and the Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Program. She spoke on “The Global Impact of Nursing.”

Candy Cherrington, nursing and health, will present “Comparison of upper arm and forearm blood pressure cuff placement in an Intensive Care Unit” at Sigma Theta Tau International’s 22nd International Nursing Research Congress to be held in Cancun, Mexico, in July 2011. She will be presenting with Sieglinde Ewing, one of Wright State’s RN-to-BSN graduates.

Perla Ilagan, nursing and health, will present “Perceptions of Filipino women and men on intimate partner violence” at Sigma Theta Tau International’s 22nd International Nursing Research Congress to be held in Cancun, Mexico, in July 2011.

Anne Russell, nursing and health, was elected to the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists’ Nominating Committee. Her term began March 11, 2011.

Ann Stalter and Kim Ringo, nursing and health, participated in the Quality and Safety Education in Nursing Education Consortium Institute in Chicago, Illinois. The initiative is funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation “to provide full-time faculty in all types of entry-level programs with the skills, knowledge, and resources to educate nursing students to deliver high-quality and safe nursing care.”

Detrice Barry, nursing and health, had her abstract, “Using robots and simulators for bleeding disorder education,” accepted for poster presentation at the 2011 Midwest Nursing Research Society Annual Conference in Columbus, Ohio.
