Wright State hosts 11th Trebuchet Competition

Wright State University’s eleventh annual Trebuchet Competition, in which teams use medieval devices to launch balls at targets, was held at the Wright State University Nutter Center. The tournament is inspired by medieval catapults that launched large projectiles into enemy fortifications. More than 600 students from 21 area schools competed with four trebuchets per team. Each team launched its ball a minimum of 30 feet into enemy territory at a defined target. The competition gives students a firsthand opportunity to learn about physics in an interactive, fun setting.
