Thomas Traynor, professor of economics at Wright State University, agrees the economy is in a better place than it was at the same time last year. Beginning late last year, employment in the Dayton Metropolitan Statistical Area, which consists of Greene, Miami, Montgomery, and Preble counties, began improving on a year-over-year basis for the first time in a decade, Traynor said.
