PENDLETON, Indiana (WDTN) – Family members say the outpouring of support for Andrea Vellinga has been incredible, but perhaps the only thing that’s topped it is her recovery.
“She was within three minutes of dying and that doctor who stuck that plug into her brain, if he missed it that time it could mean life or death,” says Andrea’s brother Tyler Voss.
Andrea survived those frantic first hours after part of the falling stage at the Indiana State Fair crushed her skull and left her in a medically induced coma.
Since then people have been praying for Andrea. Her support system extends from her hometown of Pendleton, Indiana to the Miami Valley, where her old volleyball teammates at Wright State helped raise money to pay for her medical bills.
