Local female surgeon gets national award

The Association of Women Surgeons has bestowed its most prestigious award on Dr. Margaret Dunn, executive associate dean of Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine.

Dunn, the first woman to practice general surgery in the Dayton region and now a specialist in breast surgery, received the Nina Starr Braunwald Award Monday during the annual AWS conference in San Francisco.
