$37M WSU research hub to bring 125 jobs

FAIRBORN — Wright State University wants to build a $37 million neuroscience and engineering research hub that would employ about 125 people under one roof, including key faculty hires that will enhance WSU’s reputation for research.

The facility would be a pumped-up version of a $22 million neuroscience research center that the university announced two years ago in conjunction with Premier Health Partners.

Within five years of opening, the hub would be expected to snag $25 million in research grant money annually, officials said.

Tim Cope, director of the university and Premier’s neuroscience institute, said the research facility will be unique in the U.S.
