Bring Home the Bacon, an event sponsored by Student Philanthropy Council, brought students together at three campus dorms to enjoy a pancake breakfast and learn about giving back. The twist: students who brought coin-filled piggy banks got bacon alongside their pancakes.
Celebrated on the evening of National Philanthropy Day, the Nov. 13 event reminded students of the importance of fundraising for the university. All proceeds of Bring Home the Bacon went to fund academic scholarships for future Wright State students.
Student reporter Reilly Dixon hit the scene to hear why students value philanthropy, giving back to the community and bacon.
