To Joanne Li, being an immigrant means immersing oneself into every aspect of the culture of a new place.
Li, who last year became dean of Wright State University’s Raj Soin College of Business, grew up in Hong Kong before first arriving in the U.S. in 1968. While the two cities have radically different cultures and daily beats, Li said it’s an awareness and pride in her heritage and the perspective it brings that has helped her to succeed.
She says she strives to instill that same sense of awareness and pride into those who go through her college.
