With close to 18,000 students and 97,000 living alumni, Wright State University already has a substantial audience to talk to on social media.
Katie Halberg, the school’s social media strategist, has engineered its top social media accounts for six years, and as the school’s other marketing teams maintain accounts for Flickr, YouTube and other media, Halberg controls its most popular main accounts, talking to 13,800 Facebook fans and 3,000 Twitter followers every day.
As the school recently won the large companies category in Dayton Business Journal’s Social Madness competition, its social media point person said the most important thing is how you engage your followers, no matter the size of the audience.
