The Air Force Association honored Wright State University President David R. Hopkins with its Ambassador Award at the annual Air Force Ball.
Gen. Janet C. Wolfenbarger, a four-star general who serves as commander of Air Force Materiel Command, presented the award to Hopkins and awards to others at the Sept. 11 event, held in the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
The Ambassador Award recognizes an individual who has served as an effective ambassador for the Dayton and Miami Valley military community in the areas of economic development, military and Air Force support, as well as for legislative successes that directly and positively impact Wright-Patterson.
The award is given each year by the Air Force Association Wright Memorial Chapter 212, a local chapter of the 100,000-member national Air Force Association. It serves Wright-Patterson, the Air Force community and the greater Dayton area supporting Air Force members, programs and outreach.
