People in the Miami Valley and across the nation are falling to prey to Internet scams that in some instances are tied to terrorism.
That’s according to Mary Leal, Wright State University professor of political science and former Dayton police officer.
Leal recently appeared on the Dr. Phil Show to talk about her journey into the predatory world of Internet love and romance, otherwise known as “catfishing.”
A follow up episode about the topic is set to air at 10 a.m. today on Channel 7, telling the story of a scam that had fatal consequences.
