Sitting in a three-hour organizational leadership class Monday afternoon, Kim Demmings felt her phone vibrate and couldn’t resist the urge to take a peek.

What she saw was a Twitter notification from Wright State athletic director Bob Grant congratulating her on becoming the first player in program history to be named Horizon League Player of the Year.
