Wright State University has hired a high-profile Wright-Patterson Air Force Base commander to lead efforts to keep skilled vets in Dayton.
Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Cassie Barlow will start at Wright State on Sept. 2 as executive director of the Aerospace Professional Development Center. The center works to retain civilian employees and military locally after they leave Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. And Barlow said in the new role she’s going to be expanding its presence in Dayton.
“The Dept. of Defense is getting ready to go through another reduction,” Barlow said. “One of the roles for the APDC will be how do we attract some of that talent here into the Dayton area. And I think the APDC and the academic institutions are very interesting in attracting that talent.”
