Wright State University students, faculty and staff gathered in the Student Union Atrium Oct. 14 to raise money and awareness for organ donation.
The event was held in honor of Rachel Doseck, a two-time heart donation recipient. Doseck, a communication major, died in 2013 after her body rejected her second transplant. Her mother, Teresa, encouraged everyone to “talk to your family members about becoming an organ and tissue donor. It changed our life and gave us many years with our daughter that we never would have had.”
The money raised at the Carnival of Caring event will help send transplant recipients and their family members to the National Transplant Games in Cleveland next year.
More information on organ and tissue donation is available at lifeconnectionofohio.org, teamohio.org or donatelifeohio.org.
