Wright State’s Student Government Association (SGA) will sponsor two events to promote student organizations and support Wright State athletes.

SGA’s House of Representatives will host the annual House Party on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Union Atrium.

Approximately 50 student organizations will be on hand to promote their groups and accomplishments and recruit new students. Free food, including pizza, games, music and giveaways will be offered.

“There’s something for everyone at House Party, just like there is an organization for everyone,” said Holley Mapel, the assistant speaker of the House of Representatives. “I believe getting involved on campus gives you a new sense of community and equips you with invaluable experience. The House Party is a great place to get familiar with our outstanding organizations — it’s never too late to get connected.”

Student organizations are invited to participate. Student leaders must register their organization to be assigned a table. Registration closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 13. Register at orgsync.com/1362/forms/233916.

Students can have some fun before the men’s basketball game against Northern Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 4, during Raider Roundup. The pep rally runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Nutter Center McLin Gym.

The event is co-hosted by SGA, the Student Alumni Association and University Activities Board. The Raider Roundup will feature free food, inflatable games, laser tag, music and door prizes. Hundreds of students are expected to attend.

“Students should come out to Raider Roundup to have some true fun in the midst of winter,” said Mapel. “We can get pumped up before one of the big games of the year and support our men’s basketball team.”
