The Wright State women’s basketball team received its fourth straight bid to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and will play at Toledo on Friday, March 16, starting at 7 p.m.
Wright State employees and students are encouraged to dress down and Raider Up Friday by wearing green and gold in support of the women’s basketball team in the WNIT.
The Rockets are 17–14 on the season and are riding a four-game losing streak, including a first-round MAC tournament game to Kent State 80–76 in overtime.
The Raiders, 23–10, lost to Green Bay in the finals of the Horizon League tournament.
Wright State has been led by Horizon League Player of the Year Chelsea Welch, who has averaged 21.2 points per game. Junior Emily Vogelphl, a member of the Horizon League Defensive Team, has averaged 10.7 points and 6.6 rebounds while Taylor Mackenzie, named to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team, has averaged 11.4 points.
The Raiders played at Toledo in the first round of the 2015 WNIT, falling 72-64.
