Wright State celebrates its employees with appreciation week March 4-8

Wright State University community members have been through a lot this semester. It’s been a stressful and challenging time for everyone. Through it all, one thing has remained constant: our dedication to our students and the university community.

As a thank-you, the university has organized Employee Appreciation Week during spring break, March 4 to 8. The week will feature the following activities and giveaways:

Monday, March 4: Employee Free Lunch Day: Join your coworkers and colleagues from across campus for a free meal, up to a $9 value. Present your Wright State ID at checkout to redeem.

  • Dayton Campus lunch: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Market or The Hangar
  • Lake Campus lunch: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in The Boathouse

Tuesday, March 5: Horizon League Game Day: Cheer on the Raiders when the Wright State women’s and men’s teams host the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament at the Wright State University Nutter Center. Employees can receive up to four free tickets valid for both games. The women’s basketball game tips off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men’s basketball game at 8 p.m. Join your colleagues at the Alumni Party Deck before or during the games.

Employees should check their Wright State email for ordering information.

March 4–15: All employees can order one complimentary Wright State polo from the Wright State Bookstore among preselected styles and logos. Additional preselected shirts are available for $20 each. Employees can visit the Wright State Bookstore or the Lake Campus Bookstore to try on sample polos starting March 4.

All orders must be received by close of business on March 15. Employees should check their Wright State email for ordering information.

March 4–8: Enjoy dressing casually all week. Green and gold clothing is always welcome, especially on Tuesday, March 5, when the Raiders take the court in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament.

Friday, March 8: Employees normally scheduled to work March 8 may take the afternoon off, though the university will not close. Feel free to leave at noon. Arrangements may be made by Vice Presidents or Deans for thin crews in departments, and in those cases, employees who work March 8 may take another afternoon off, as discussed with their manager. Hourly employees should record normal hours on their timesheet with a notation in the comment field such as “March 8, employee appreciation afternoon off.” Salaried employees do not have to record anything on leave reports but should make a similar notation in the comment field in their March leave report.

Please join your colleagues for any of these Employee Appreciation Week activities. Thank you for your continued commitment to Wright State University.
