Refunds and credits for the spring semester

Wright State University Sue Edwards sent the following message on April 9:

Dear Students,

I want to thank all of you for being #RaiderStrong and #LakerStrong during this extremely challenging time. I am tremendously proud of the resilience you’ve each demonstrated through these trying times.

I know many of you have had questions about refunds and credits for the spring 2020 semester. Thank you for your patience as we developed a fair plan for issuing refunds and credits to students for housing, meal plans, and parking for the spring 2020 semester. Refunds will be issued for expenses students paid out of pocket and will not include scholarships or grants.

Our goal is to issue all refunds for all eligible students by the end of April.

Campus Housing

Students who lived in residence halls on the Dayton and Lake Campuses and properly checked out with Residence Life and Housing will receive prorated refunds covering the period of March 23 (the deadline students were given to leave campus housing) to April 30.

Residential Meal Plans

Students with residential meal plans will receive refunds for meal swipes for March 23 to April 30. Dining dollars that normally would have expired at the end of spring 2020 will continue to be valid until the end of spring 2021.

Students who graduate, transfer to another institution, or do not return to Wright State are eligible to receive a prorated refund for meal plans. Those students should request a refund by contacting the Wright1 Card Center at wright1card@wright.edu.

Commuter Meal Plans

Commuter meal plans and dining dollars that normally would have expired at the end of spring 2020 will continue to be valid until the end of spring 2021.

Students who graduate, transfer to another institution, or do not return to Wright State are eligible to receive a prorated refund. Those students should request a refund by contacting the Wright1 Card Center at wright1card@wright.edu.

RaiderCash

RaiderCash will roll over to the 2020-21 academic year. Students who graduate, transfer to another institution, or do not return to Wright State can request their RaiderCash by contacting the Wright1 Card Center at wright1card@wright.edu.

Student Parking

Students will receive a prorated credit for parking permits that can be applied to the cost of a future parking pass for the 2020-21 academic year. The amount of the prorated credit will be based on the type of pass each student purchased for the spring 2020 semester. The parking permit credit will be calculated using a seven-week proration, from March 16 to April 30.

Students who graduate, transfer to another institution, or do not return to Wright State are eligible to receive a prorated refund for their parking permit. Those students should request a refund by contacting the Facilities Management and Campus Operations Customer Care Center at 937-775-4444 or parking@wright.edu.

Eligibility Requirements

Refunds for students who owe a balance for housing, meal plans, parking, or other charges will be reduced by the amount owed.

Students are not eligible to receive a refund if their tuition and fees were paid exclusively by a federal or state grant, a scholarship or grant from Wright State or the Wright State University Foundation, or a scholarship from an external organization or a third-party.

Students who have questions should contact RaiderConnect at 937-775-4000 or raiderconnect@wright.edu.

Stay safe and look out for each other. Please continue to practice physical distancing, stay home as much as possible, and practice good hygiene habits. Let’s continue to flatten the curve and make a difference in Ohio.

Best wishes,
Sue
