Outstanding Wright State students and organizations recognized with leadership awards

Outstanding individual and student organizations were honored by the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership during Wright State University’s annual Student Leadership Awards ceremony.

Recipients were honored during a virtual ceremony streamed on Facebook on April 9.

“Despite having to transition to a virtual ceremony this year, this event helps to bring everyone together in times of celebration, connection, and appreciation for all that we have done this year,” said Jeremy Keller, the program manager for leadership in the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership.

The categories this year included emerging leader, established leader, advanced leader, senior leader, student supporter of the year, advisor of the year, graduate student, student organization collaboration, student organization community service, student organization diversity and inclusion, student organization of the year and student organization program of the year.

Keller said he loves how the awards recognize students who are doing great things for their school and community.

“For us, it is a time that we are able to recognize any and all of our students, leaders, organizations and Wright State University community members,” Keller said. “These awards are not based on academics, but rather the impact that the recipients have had on their peers, campus, local and sometimes even national communities. It also shows the growth our student leaders have had over a year, whether it be their first year here on campus or graduating at the end of the year.”
