The Wright State University Foundation will host its sixth annual Wright Day to Give on Thursday, Oct. 6. The annual giving day was first launched in 2017 as part of Wright State University’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Since its inception, more than 3,300 donors have contributed over $612,000 to student scholarships and programs on the Wright Day to Give.
“We continue to be amazed by the generosity of our donors on the Wright Day to Give,” said Amy Jones, director of annual giving. “Participation has grown dramatically since our first Wright Day to Give in 2017. We are thankful to all of the Wright State alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends who step up and give back on this special day.”
The theme of this year’s Wright Day to Give is “Give Back to the Pack.” A variety of challenges and matching gifts will be offered to encourage participation, including:
- College Alumni Participation Challenge — Wright State is challenging all alumni to make a gift on the Wright Day to Give. When an alumnus makes a donation, the Wright State college they graduated from will be counted towards the College Alumni Challenge. The college with the most alumni participation — regardless of where the gifts are designated — will earn $3,500 from a generous alumni donor.
- Donor Unlock from the Wright State University Foundation Board of Trustees — Once 1,000 gifts have been reached on the Wright Day to Give, a $35,000 gift from the Wright State University Foundation Board of Trustees will be unlocked.
Additional matches and challenges will be announced on the Wright Day to Give throughout the day.
In 2021, more than 1,000 gifts totaling over $212,000 were contributed on the Wright Day to Give.
“We always hope to top the previous year,” said Jones. “We encourage our Wright State family to give back to the pack and make Wright Day to Give 2022 one for the record books.”
