Wright State University students can learn about internships and full-time job opportunities that help the U.S. Air Force negotiate contracts, buy equipment, and manage the life cycle of anything an airman might fly, fuel, transport, drive, wear, shelter in, communicate with or drop on targets.
Wright State’s 2024 Employer Speaker Series continues on Tuesday, Feb. 20, in the Student Union’s Apollo Room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a visit from representatives from multiple divisions at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Recruiters will be on hand to meet with students personally following presentations.

The Air Force’s Premier College Internship Program offers a three-month paid internship for the summer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a contract specialist. Contract specialists are at the center of supplying and sustaining the Air Force with everything from satellites, electronics, and aircraft to supplies and services necessary for the day-to-day operation of military installations around the world.
The human resources office will also recruit students who plan to graduate in 2024 or alumni for permanent, full-time positions.
Employers are also looking to hire temporary summer positions that would be of most interest to non-seniors. Positions include lifeguard, recreation aid, fitness aid, youth programs, laborer, clerical and administrative assistant, engineering technician, engineering equipment operator and more.
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, one of the nation’s largest military bases, has had a long and fruitful collaboration with Wright State. Located minutes from the Dayton Campus, the base offers Wright State students, regardless of any armed service connection, opportunities for real-world experience across numerous areas of study.
As the host unit at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the 88th Air Base Wing operates the airfield, maintains all infrastructure, and provides security, communications, medical, legal, personnel, finance, transportation, air traffic control, weather forecasting, public affairs, recreation and chaplain services for more than 100 associate units.
The 88th Air Base Wing is comprised of more than 5,000 officers and Air Force civilian and contractor employees and reports to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, a major development and acquisition product center of the Air Force Materiel Command.
