Lisa Gossett ’87

With an illustrious career spanning over three decades in nursing and hospital operations leadership, Lisa Gossett has exemplified an unwavering commitment to nursing excellence and patient-centered care, establishing herself as an invaluable asset to the health care industry.

Her journey in health care began at Premier Health, where she embarked on her nursing career and ascended through the ranks, assuming various nursing leadership roles and ultimately serving as chief nursing officer at Atrium Medical Center.

Before her current role, Gossett spent several years as the chief nursing officer at Riverside Methodist Hospital and the system chief nursing executive for OhioHealth in Columbus, where she had strategic oversight of more than 10,000 nursing associates across 12 hospitals, more than 200 ambulatory locations, home health and hospice services, and developed and executed a strategic nursing plan that harmonized the entire nursing community across the system.

In 2022, she rejoined Premier Health as system vice president, system chief nursing officer and chief experience officer, bringing with her a wealth of experience and an unyielding passion for enhancing the patient experience.

In addition to her extensive executive nursing leadership roles across the state, she founded her own coaching and consulting business, Gossett Consulting and Insights, underscoring her dedication to nurturing and developing health care leaders. She is a trained leadership coach with a profound mission to empower leaders to deliver the highest quality patient care possible.

Gossett authored the book “R.E.A.D.I. to Lead: A Pathway to a Successful First Year as Nurse Manager,” a guide for aspiring nurse managers that reflects her commitment to mentorship and nurturing the next generation of healthcare leaders.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wright State University and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She also holds a coaching certificate from the Hudson Institute of Coaching. As a recognized leader in the field, she actively engages in prestigious organizations, including the American Organization of Nurse Leaders, the Ohio Organization of Nurse Executives and the International Coaching Federation.

Among other professional activities, Gossett hosts a biannual regional collaborative for nurse leaders in the tri-state area to network, discuss the challenges they face and support one another.
